Willis Tower (Formally Sears Tower) under various stages of construction in Chicago, Illinois.  Upon its completion in 1973, it was the Tallest Building in the World.

It held this record until 1998 (25 years) when it was passed by  Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Twin Towers in 1998.  Sears Tower remains the Tallest Building in the Western Hemisphere and the 7th Tallest Freestanding Structure in the World.
